Kevin Gage is a senior
executive (CEO, COO) with a successful career history in leading
under-performing private equity, venture and publicly owned
businesses. With proven
results in driving shareholder returns across multiple service industries,
Kevin’s background is comprised of strong sales, operations, leadership
and team building skills
combined with a CPA/MBA, “Big
Four” foundation.
Kevin most recently was Chief Operating Officer
and Executive Vice President of Oakleaf Waste Management, a $600
million Private Equity owned waste outsourcing / logistics services firm
that provides turnkey solutions to Fortune 500 companies in designing,
contracting and managing their waste and recycling programs. After
experiencing stagnant results and increased client turnover, Kevin was
recruited by the majority investor to refocus leadership, reorganize and
develop operations leading to improved company performance. Oakleaf’s
recent sale in August, 2007 delivered a 60%+ internal rate of return to
its Private Equity investors.
Prior to Oakleaf Waste Management, Kevin was a
Managing Director of Nightingale & Associates, providing senior
management and crisis management experience in such industries as
financial services, software, heavy equipment manufacturing, plastic injection
molding, wholesale apparel, transportation, marketing services,
franchising / retail and wireless communications.
Prior
to Nightingale & Associates, Kevin was the Chairman & Chief
Executive Officer of JobDirect, Inc., a Venture funded application service provider
(ASP) that delivered software tools and other services to “Fortune 3000”
companies who desired to enhance their business processes in recruiting
recent college graduates and interns for employment. Kevin guided the capitalization, growth and structure of
this organization through the expansion segment of its lifecycle,
ultimately leading to the sale of the company to Korn Ferry International,
delivering a 173% internal rate of return to its Venture investors.
Prior to JobDirect,
Kevin was the President & Chief Executive Officer of Hometown
Bancorporation, Inc. where, during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, a
period in banking considered to be the most significant downturn since the
great depression when almost one third of Connecticut’s banks failed,
Kevin assumed the challenge of successfully developing and implementing a
turnaround plan for this troubled publicly traded financial institution. During Kevin’s tenure and upon sale
of the institution in 1996, shareholders earned a 39% internal rate of
return on their investment.
Kevin
began his career with Price Waterhouse where as an audit manager; he
worked with clients in the healthcare, wholesale apparel, financial
services, automotive parts and electrical device manufacturing
industries.
Kevin
earned his B.A. in Accounting from
Ithaca
College
and an MBA in finance from the
University of
Bridgeport
where he was elected to
the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma.Kevin is a CPA in the state of Connecticut.
Kevin resides in Weston, Connecticut with his Wife
